FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Hola everyone!
On behalf of the Spanish Center Staff
and Board of Directors we hope that you had the best of holidays and
wish you continued happiness and support from your families and all that
surround you.
As you may have already felt the cold
of winter has come upon us we have seen an increase of 63% of new
applications for energy assistance. Times have been difficult and we
have geared up to meet this unprecedented challenge. We have increased
our support services to reach out to all of those in need and to
simplify our delivery of services to our participants.
There is no doubt that times have been
difficult, the loss of jobs has had a major impact to our community and
has tested the system in reaching out to all. But I must say that our
community has demonstrated an ability to hold faith and has reached out
to those in need. We have been blessed that the current system that
delivers services to those in need merit deep respect and your support
in which ever way you can. The children and their families are in
continued need for food, diapers, winter clothing or a simple meal. Our
youth are in need of direction keeping them away from the claws of
gangs, drugs, alcohol and abuse. Our senior citizens need the warmth of
a smile and someone that can listen to and assist them with health and
medical issues. We are still a community in need and we need your help.
I also extend an invitation to you and
all to assist us by attending our annual meeting to take place at the
Madrigano Auditorium at Gateway Kenosha on February 5th 2010
11:30am to 1pm to listen to our
accomplishments and what needs to be done. We will also have several
announcements that are exciting and hopefully beneficial to our mission.
We expect Governor Jim Doyle to be our key speaker and entertainment
will be provided by Comedy Sportz who will provide us with humor and
laughter. And of course food that will be provided by a local and well
known establishment. So please join us, help us reach our goals in
assisting those in need and have a good time by doing so. For more

In the meanwhile if you know of someone
in need of energy assistance, or need help
in dealing with a teen or in search of a parenting group or simply needs
to talk to someone about these difficult times do not hesitate to call
us and we will be more than willing to help. Remember, “Together we can
