Spanish Center Programs


Home Energy Assistance ---------------- Assists low income families with the expense of
                                        heating their homes and provides emergency assistance
                                        in crisis moments.


Gang Prevention ----------------------- Bilingual tutoring and enrichment activities are provided
                                        to youth ages 6-18.


Computer Classes ---------------------- Basic computer classes are offered in both Spanish and 
                                        English on a flexible schedule.

Outreach & Bilingual Health Educator -- Provides English as a Second Language (ESL) utilizing 
                                        Gateway College instructors, also provides Spanish-speaking,
                                        residents access to existing health care services with an
                                        emphasis on primary care and intervention and education.


DHS Medicare Eligiblity Outstation ---- Enrolls low income families in Medicare.



Access To Prenatal Care --------------- Seeks to eliminate disparities in health status experienced
                                        by the Hispanic population through access to quality prenatal
                                        health services, education and community-based programs by 
                                        providing translation, transportation, advocacy and referal.                              
                    

Senior Outreach Program -------------- Provides meaningful volunteer opportunities to persons age 60 
                                        and older.

Summer Lunches -----------------------  In conjunction with the Salvation Army nutritious lunches are
                                        served to over 50 children during the 10 week summer school
                                        vacation.  

Multicultural Dancing Group ----------- Volunteers proudly share their cultural heritage with youth,
                                        giving them a positive self-image and filling their extra-                                         
                                        curricular time with exposure to diverse role-models.
